current work. as the assistant head of the education library at uf, i am both a manager and a subject selector. i build specialized collections for the five academic units of the college of education and engage in reference and instruction activities. further, as the library's resource navigation committee chair, i focus on user access to services and usability of resources and services provided. learn more about me through perusal of my (not-so-recently-updated) university CV.

research. like other tenure-track faculty members, i have challenging professional responsibilities and serve the profession while participating in research activities. current topics include design and assessment of:
  • federated search systems,
  • digital library management systems, and
  • information commons as teaching and learning spaces.
back then. prior to becoming a librarian, i worked for the man, analyzing the financial disclosure reports of executive branch employees at the u.s. department of commerce. i helped to ensure that "public service [remain] a public trust."

that's it for now! keep in touch.
