this site provides information about marilyn ochoa.

current work. as the assistant head of the education library at uf, i am both a manager and a subject selector. i build specialized collections and subject guides for the academic units of the college of education and engage in reference and instruction activities. i generally focus on user access to services and lead usability projects and e-learning initiatives on behalf of the smathers library system. learn more about me through perusal of my (not-so-recently-updated) university CV.

research. like other tenure-track faculty members, i have challenging professional responsibilities and serve the profession while participating in research activities. current topics include design and/or assessment of:

digital library management systems,
web 2.0 technologies in the classroom, and
information commons as teaching and learning spaces.

back then. prior to becoming a librarian, i worked for the man, analyzing the financial disclosure reports of executive branch employees at the u.s. department of commerce. i helped to ensure that "public service [remain] a public trust."
